Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) describes what you may and may not do when using Mento (the “Service”). It supplements our Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to follow this Policy. We may update it from time to time, as described under Changes below.
Prohibited content and conduct
You may not use the Service to create, store, request, or distribute content, or to engage in conduct, that:
- is illegal, or promotes, facilitates, or encourages illegal activity;
- exploits, sexualizes, or endangers minors in any way;
- harasses, threatens, defames, or incites violence against any person or group, or promotes hateful or discriminatory conduct;
- infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of others, or discloses someone else’s private or personal information without authorization;
- contains malware or is intended to harm, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any system or data.
Prohibited technical abuse
You may not, and may not attempt to:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app or otherwise derive its source code, except where this restriction is prohibited by law;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with usage limits, quotas, rate limits, authentication, security features, or access controls;
- access the Service through unauthorized automated means (scraping, bots, scripts) or use it to build a competing product or dataset;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or breach or attempt to breach any security or authentication measures;
- transmit content designed to overload, degrade, or impair the Service or its infrastructure.
Rules for AI features
When using Mento’s AI companion and related features, you may not:
- use the AI to generate content prohibited by the Prohibited content and conduct section above;
- attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or bypass the AI’s safety measures or operational limits;
- attempt to access, infer, or extract data belonging to other users or any non-public system data through prompts or otherwise;
- present AI output as professional advice or use it in ways that could cause harm (see the AI disclaimer in our Terms of Service).
Consequences of violations
If you violate this Policy, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including removing content, limiting or suspending features, and suspending or terminating your account, with or without notice, as described in our Terms of Service. We may also report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.

Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
